ProgMatCon2020 – International Conference on Programmable Materials
“ProgMatCon2020 is the first scientific conference on programmable materials. The aim is to create a new platform for this interdisciplinary field of research.”
Programmable surface interactions and friction
In situ control of friction, adaptive friction change and superlubricity were identified as the greatest challenges in tribology. The control or influence of friction is mainly investigated on the nanoscale and not yet so strongly on the macroscale. The transferability of the mechanisms to real applications is precisely the difficulty and challenge.
This symposium aims to present the latest research results in the field of friction value control based on different mechanisms and methods. A special focus will be on the transferability to real applications. Topics of interest within this symposium will be:
Mechanisms of controllable friction
All kinds of triggers to control friction
Experimental studies of controllable friction
Modelling and simulation of surface interactions
Visions for technical applications
